Ford Offers Electrifying Lineup of EV Pickup Trucks

Published on Nov 15, 2022 by Admin

What 2022 Ford Trucks are Available in Electric or Hybrid?

Ford has always been known for big, heavy duty trucks capable of tackling just about any job that its given. And while tWhile Ford entered the hybrid and electric game with some of its smaller sedans, the EV trend is clearly not going away, and the demand for more fuel-efficient vehicles has only increased. With the rising trend has come the expansion to SUVs, vans and even pickup trucks. While some may argue that a hybrid or EV will never accomplish the same power that a gas or diesel-powered engine may provide, Ford has silenced the naysayers with an expanding lineup of highly-capable electric and hybrid trucks.

2022 Ford F-150 Hybrid

It all started with the Ford F-150. The truck that truly changed the pickup game and showed truck buyers that there is nothing wrong with adding electricity to the mix. The hybrid pulls most of its strength from the 3.5-liter V6 Powerboost engine, but the electric motor gives it a boost as well and helps to make the F-150 more fuel efficient than ever before. And with that power comes impressive performance. The Ford F-150 Hybrid is capable of 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque – how’s that for a hybrid?

2022 Ford F-150 Lightning

After showing that the F-150 could perform just as well with an electric motor, Ford went all in and unleashed the F-150 Lightning – an all-electric version of the time-tested pickup. This is the one that is capable of powering your house during a power outage or taking you as far as 300 miles on a single charge with the Extended-Range battery. And much like the F-150 Hybrid, unrivaled power comes standard in the Lighting as well. With the higher-end battery option, it hits 563 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque. It’s yet another example of Ford showing that gas isn’t a requirement for capability.

2022 Ford Maverick

While the F-150 Hybrid and Lightning are able to pack quite a punch in the power department, not everyone needs the size and utility that the full-size pickup delivers. And for those buyers, the Ford Maverick is the answer. Like the Lighting, the Maverick is a newcomer to the Ford lineup, and it is perfectly sized for weekend warriors who are after the versatility of a pickup, but who can do without the added bulk or extreme power.

Similar to the F-150, the Maverick comes in both a gas-exclusive and a hybrid option – the latter of which is able to travel 42 mpg in the city and go as far as 500 miles on a single tank of gas.
