The electric vehicle revolution is accelerating, with numerous automakers, including Jeep, committing to a zero-emissions future. As a result, many beloved cars, trucks, and SUVs are transitioning from gas tanks to battery packs. Jeep already offers the Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe, and now, the lineup is expanding with the introduction of the all-new, all-electric Jeep Wagoneer S.
Today, we turn our attention to the Jeep Wagoneer S. Boasting electrifying design, impressive driving ranges, and swift charging times, the EV version of this iconic utility vehicle promises to be just as formidable as its gasoline-powered counterparts.
Although the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S picks up design cues from the traditional, gas-powered version of the SUV, the EV has a unique look that really sets it apart. This includes a closed grille and a front LED light bar that deliver a futuristic vibe. The exterior features elegant black cues, a reimagined seven-slot illuminated grille, 20-inch wheels, and a standard dual-pane panoramic sunroof.
Built on the innovative STLA Large platform, the Wagoneer S maximizes driving range, with the ability to travel more than 300 miles on a single charge. When you need to recharge, a public DC fast charger can give you from 20% to 80% charge in just 23 minutes, making long trips more manageable.
In terms of performance, the Wagoneer S offers 600 horsepower and 617 lb.-ft. of instant torque, allowing the SUV to clock in a 0 to 60 time of just 3.4 seconds. The Jeep-exclusive Selec-Terrain traction management system provides five distinct drive modes: Auto, Sport, Eco, Snow, and Sand, ensuring optimal performance in all weather and road conditions.
The Jeep Wagoneer S is equipped with a 400-volt, 100-kilowatt-hour battery pack, designed for quick and efficient charging. Using a DC fast charger, the vehicle can charge from 20% to 80% in just 23 minutes. Each Wagoneer S Launch Edition includes a 48-amp Level 2 home charger or public charging credits through Free2move Charge, Stellantis’ 360-degree charging ecosystem, making it easy for owners to stay charged.
The Wagoneer S achieves a coefficient of drag (CD) of 0.29, the lowest ever for a Jeep vehicle. This is accomplished through state-of-the-art wind tunnel testing and design features such as flush pocket door handles, rear wing, integrated fins, and underbody shields. These elements work together to direct airflow smoothly around the vehicle, minimizing drag and maximizing efficiency.
