New Tremor Packages Give Ford Maverick Off-Road Capabilities

Since rolling out the high-performance, off-road-friendly Raptor variant of the F-150, Ford has continued to expand on the popularity of the Raptor line by injecting Raptor trims of several other trucks and SUVs. And although the name will be slightly different, Ford has already unleashed an off-road version of the latest Ford Maverick, which will include several performance-enhancing features and capabilities.

From what we’ve learned from Ford, the Tremor Off-Road Package is focused on enhancing the performance of the pickup, but also includes some design touches that help to separate the Tremor from the other versions of the small yet capable pickup. Topping the list of features includes dark appearance head and taillamps, rugged all-terrain tires and an off-road tuned suspension that adds one inch of lift, as well as steel skid plates to help protect the underside from whatever lies beneath.

The off-road package does require the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine, as well as the advanced 4WD system to provide the power and the drive system needed to tackle the terrains and trails.

While the Tremor Off-Road Package focuses on ramping up the performance of the truck, there is also a separate appearance package that includes all the performance-boosting features, but that adds several aesthetic features, including Carbonized Gray touches that sweep across the roof, hood, lower door graphic and door handles. If you opt for either the Lariat or XLT Luxury Package, the Off-Road Plus Appearance Package also includes a special Carbonized Gray treatment on the side mirrors.

Beyond the Tremor-specific packages, the Ford Maverick can also be outfitted with a separate FX4 Off-Road Package that includes front tow hooks, hill descent control, skid plates, all-terrain tires, five drive modes and more. The package does require a minimum of the 2.0-liter EcoBoost and all-wheel drive.

Similar to other Fords, the Maverick also offers up a Black Appearance Package that adds black door handles on the XLT model, and darkens up the mirrors, grille, headlamps and taillamps. Rounding out the package are 18-inch machined-face ebony, black-painted aluminum wheels and black edition decals.
