When you think of supercars, the brands that come to mind likely include the likes of Lamborghini and Ferrari. But come this summer, Chevy will be marking their territory in the high-end performance sports car market. Marked as a 2023 model, the Chevy Corvette Z06 will deliver racetrack-like speed with a unique set of features, including a Performance Package that ramps up performance a few notches.
Standard in all variations of the Z06 is a flat-plane V8 engine that is positioned behind the driver for more balance and control. The naturally-aspirated 5.5-liter is capable of revving up to 8,600 rpm, giving the Vette a fierce roar that screams power. And not surprisingly, its bite is just as big as its bark. The engine is able to reach 670 horsepower, which helps to deliver speed that is worthy for the track.
The Chevy Corvette Z06 performance package has been branded as the Z07 package. In addition to all the standard features mentioned above, the add-on package brings aerodynamic elements, reduces weight and upgrades the brakes and tires for greater stopping power and better grip on the track. The brakes are carbon ceramic and the wheels all come wrapped in high-end Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
At the time of this post, the MSRP of the Chevy Corvette Z06 has not been released, and naturally, that means that the price of the Z07 Performance Package is still under wraps, but with the 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 release date scheduled to hit this summer, it’s only a matter of time before we’ll get more specifics on the cost. For now, estimates pin the starting price of the Z06 right around $90,000.
