Overwhelmingly powerful and massively capable when it needs to be, and smooth, calm and balanced when it doesn’t. The Ram 2500 is a chameleon that can adapt to whatever you need it to, including even the toughest of jobs. With gas and diesel engine options that deliver as much as 19,900 pounds (yes, you read that right) of towing capacity, there’s not a whole lot that the Ram 2500 can’t do. And yet it offers up a spacious cabin that comes filled with plenty of convenience and tech features to really set it apart.
At Glenn Polk Auto, the Ram 2500 continues to be one of the go-to heavy duty pickups for buyers in the Gainesville area – and for good reason. While some of the heavy duty pickups out there take more of a take-it-or-leave-it approach with a limited number of trim levels, the Ram 2500 offers up seven unique trim options that include Laramie, Limited Longhorn, Limited, Tradesman, Big Horn, Power Wagon and Rebel (one of the newest additions to the lineup). Similar to its Ram 1500 counterpart, the 2500 offers several cab configurations, and even includes a 40/20/40 split-folding bench to offer up additional storage and hauling options on the inside.
With two engine options available under the hood, the Ram 2500 allows you to both haul and tow with confidence. That’s true whether you stick with the standard issue 6.4-liter HEMI V8 or opt to swap the V8 for the available 6.7-liter Cummins turbo diesel I6. Both offer up a unique set of capabilities. If you are after greater payload, you’ll find it in the gas-powered V8, which tops out at 4,000 pounds in the bed. In the towing department, the V8 goes up to 17,730 pounds with its 410-horsepower output.
As with all diesel engines, torque is higher in the Cummins turbo diesel, which churns out an astounding 850 lb-ft in combination with 370 horsepower. That output translates to 3,150 pounds of payload and falls just 10 pounds short of a 20,000-pound towing capacity, making the diesel-drinking engine the stronger of the two when it comes to pulling extra weight off the hitch.
Ready to experience all that the Ram 2500 has to offer? You’re in luck. At Glenn Polk Auto, we stock rows upon rows of the heavy-duty pickup with plenty of trims and colors to choose from. We make it simple to get you behind the wheel where you can lay your foot on the gas pedal, and both feel and hear the rumble of the gas and diesel engines to determine which is better suited for you.
