After a brief hiatus that stretched from 2011 to 2019, Ford revived the ever-popular Ranger. And despite its recent comeback, the mid-size pickup is already getting a complete redesign for the 2024 model year. With it comes a completely new body that is both wider and longer. The inside of the Ranger also comes with a long list of technology and features, many of which are standard. Topping the list, however, are three engine options that allow you to tailor performance of the mighty pickup to meet your needs.

Keeping with Ford pickup tradition, the Ranger will be available in several trims. For the Ranger, it includes a trio of the XL, XLT and Lariat, a few of which will offer up optional packages to further enhance the exterior appeal and performance. That includes a Chrome Appearance Package, an STX Appearance Package and a FX4 off-roading package to ramp up capabilities on a variety of terrains.

New to the Ranger are three engines that provide a range of capabilities. Standard equipment is a reliable 2.3-liter EcoBoost that puts out 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, making it well equipped for the smaller size of the mid-size truck. Up a few notches is the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, which adds a bit more oomph for a total of 315 horsepower and nearly 100 extra lb-ft of torque for a total of 400. At the top of the engine line is the available 3.0-liter EcoBoost. Exclusive to the Raptor variant of the Ranger, the off-road-tuned, six-cylinder powerhouse churns out 405 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque.

Outside, the Ranger gains two inches across the wheelbase and adds two inches to the width as well, allowing it to fit four-foot sheets of drywall or plywood between the wheel wells of the bed. And on the inside, the Ranger gets more technology than ever before, including a range of towing-friendly features. Everything is run through a standard 10.1-inch center touchscreen that can be expanded up to 12 inches and that comes equipped with a standard SYNC 4A infotainment system in every trim, giving you access to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto right out of the box for easy connectivity with your mobile device.
