Although performance has always been at the heart of the Ford Mustang, the latest Dark Horse edition of the long-standing pony car turns the dial up to 11 with a Coyote V8 engine that is tuned for the track. And with its track-like performance comes more unique, sinister styling with cool shades of blue on the outside and Dark-Horse-exclusive Indigo Blue accents spread throughout the interior for a one-of-a-kind look that helps the Mustang Dark Horse to stand out from the rest of the ponies in the Mustang stable.

Of all the exclusive equipment found throughout the Mustang Dark Horse, perhaps none is quite as heart-pounding as the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 that produces spine-tingling speed and sound. At its peak, the eight-cylinder powerhouse churns out as much as 500 horsepower and 418 lb-ft of torque. And at the heart of the interior is an all-new anodized blue, lightweight titanium manual shift knob that gives you full control over the performance. If you choose, paddle shifters can be added along with the optional 10-speed automatic transmission for almost-instantaneous gear shifts and a thrilling driving experience.

There are several design elements from front to back that are exclusive to the Dark Horse, and yet it still screams “Mustang” with nothing more than a quick glance. The exterior includes darkened headlamps and a unique, chiseled grille with geometric side intakes. You’ll also find side skirts a rear diffuser and darkened quad exhaust tips that all get the unique Dark Horse treatment. And helping to highlight it all is a one-of-a-kind Blue Ember metallic paint that was mixed up specifically for the Dark Horse variation.

While the design touches of the Dark Horse come standard across the board, there is also a Dark Horse Appearance Package that adds bolstered RECARO performance seats, complete with Deep Indigo Blue accent stitching, as well as black Dinamica suede in the center of the seat to provide greater lateral grip. Those indigo blue touches also expand to the seatbelts and seat perforations to round out the theme.
