While most of the compact SUVs on the market offer up just a few trim options, the Escape has six, pre-built combinations that allow you to quickly and easily adapt the Escape to meet your needs. And with those trims come plenty of features that enhance all areas of the SUV from performance to comfort.
It starts with three engine options – two gas and one plug-in hybrid. The gas options consist of two EcoBoost engines, a 1.5-liter and a 2.0-liter, the former of which shells out 180 horsepower and the latter than turns up the dial to 250 horses. Even the plug-in hybrid manages to achieve 210 total system horsepower when working at full capacity. Following the Built Ford Tough mentality, the Escape offers up enough power to tow 3,500 pounds, which is perfect for a trailer or some other smaller towing jobs.
On the inside, the 2024 Ford Escape provides 37.5 cubic feet of space behind the second row, or nearly double the size of the average sedan trunk (34.4 cubic feet for the plug-in hybrid). And with the second-row seatback folded completely down (it can also be split 60/40 for additional configurations), the back of the Escape opens up to 65.4 cubic feet of space. It’s more than enough to fit whatever you need to, whether it be backpacks, suitcases or even dorm room furniture to help your kids take the next step.
