As mentioned above, the Trax has been fully redesigned, and is both longer and wider than previous models, which adds more cargo room than ever before. Previously, the Trax fell just shy of 50 cubic feet, but with the added space, the total comes out to 54.1 when the rear seat is completely folded down. The cargo space is easily accessible with the rear liftgate that allows you to take full advantage of the cabin height when storing. And when you need to carry passengers, there is plenty of room for up to 5.

Under the hood, the Trax is powered by a turbocharged 3-cylinder engine – the same one found in the nose of the Trailblazer. The smaller size allows the Trax to stretch a gallon of fuel further, and yet the turbocharger brings some extra oomph that is really felt behind the wheel of the smaller crossover.

Inside, there are plenty of appealing technology features, including the sought-after Chevy Safety Assist bundle of safety and driver-assistance features standard across all models. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard for smartphone integration. For all of the added, available features, the Trax has five unique trim levels – previously it had just two – that allow you to tweak the styling and feature packages to your liking, without having to completely custom build your own crossover SUV.
