Let’s start with the trims, as the Acadia has just two – the SLE and the SLT. In terms of exterior design, the two are nearly identical. What sets them apart are the options that come with each. For example, the SLT offers slightly more in the towing department with maximum pulling power of 4,000 pounds, which tops out at 3,500 in the entry-level SLE. It comes courtesy of the available 3.6-liter V6 engine, a powertrain that is exclusive to the SLT. The SLT also has leather-appointed seats in rows one and two.

Standard under the hood of both trims is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that comes turbocharged to help it deliver a bit more strength and performance. With a smaller size, the engine also manages to deliver higher fuel efficiency. At its peak, the Acadia can go as far as 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway – a rating that is typically only achieved by sedans – helping you to save at the pumps.

The inside space of the Acadia is the same for the SLE and SLT, both of which can stretch out to 52.7 cubic feet of space to haul larger items. It’s made possible by the folding seatbacks of the second and third rows. If you choose, you can opt for the second-row bench seat to be converted to two captains chairs. While it brings the passenger capacity from seven to six, the seats allow more room to access the third row and also adds a bit more leg and elbow room for passengers sitting in the second row.
