After years with a trio that was limited to the Charger, Challenger and Durango, Dodge is expanding its nest to welcome the Hornet – a sporty, small crossover that will pack a vicious sting. Driven by a 268-hp turbocharged four-cylinder and equipped with all-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic transmission, the Hornet buzzes with dime-turning responsiveness and is poised to strike at a moment’s notice.
The all-new 2023 Dodge Hornet is set to land in Gainesville soon, and at Glenn Polk Auto, we’re here to help you be among the first in Texas to bring the highly capable crossover back to your hive.
What sets the Hornet apart is the option to go full gas, or to supplement with plug-in capabilities. Whether you decide to fuel up or charge up, the Hornet’s output hovers in the high 200s for both horsepower and torque. Standard equipment is a 2.0-liter Hurricane4 that strikes with 268 hp, and the plug-in hybrid engine tacks on additional 20 hp for a total of 288. The GT offers 295 lb-ft of torque, while the R/T ramps things up with 383 lb-ft of torque.

Those numbers translate to top speeds that exceed 128 mph, and a 0 to 60 time of just 6.1 seconds with the added electricity in the R/T performance hybrid. Beyond power, the Hornet is outfitted with a damping suspension system and available dual-stage valve suspension that help it juke smoothly.
And while it can turn on a dime, it can just as well stop on one. Nestled behind the sporty, 20-inch aluminum wheels – and available through the Track Pack performance package – you’ll find four-piston Red Brembo brake calipers that can stop the Hornet dead in its tracks from 62 to 0 mph in just 138 feet.
The 2023 Dodge Hornet GT has already been unleashed and is ready to strike. The eco-minded R/T plug-in performance hybrid is set to leave the nest early this year. And whether you are looking for the fueled or charged variety, we’re here to help you capture the Hornet for yourself.
