If you’re in the market for an SUV, chances are likely that you’re looking for one that checks several boxes. Seating. Cargo space. Power. Versatility. Style. Fuel economy. The list goes on. And while there are many that offer a handful of features and capabilities, there are none quite like the Explorer, which satisfies just about every need and does it in style with new enhancements for the 2022 model year.
Here at Glenn Polk, buyers in Gainesville continue to flock to our showrooms for our wide selection of affordably-priced 2022 Ford Explorers, and we invite you to join them. Visit our inventory to see the color and trim options we currently have in stock, or give us a call to start a custom Explorer order.
As demand for the Explorer continues to grow, Ford has invested a good deal into expanding its trim options. New for 2022 is an ST-Line trim that gives you the sporty look and feel of the ST, but tones down the power, helping to keep the price down for those who can do without the added boost. The new trim joins a trim lineup that includes seven other trims, including the XLT, Timberline, Limited, King Ranch and Platinum to name a few. Also ripe for the picking are several swatches of exterior colors.
Inside, you’ll find seats for as many as seven depending on seating configuration. While a bench seat is standard in entry-level trims, second-row captain’s chairs are standard in higher-end trims, which adds convenience but takes the seating capacity down to six. Either way, the third row can be folded down to give you added space for suitcases, sports gear or even the dog. If it’s room for cargo that you’re looking for, you’ll find 18 cubic feet behind the third row, and as much as 87.8 cubic feet with all seats folded.
Under the hood, there are three powertrain options that help to settle the score between fuel economy and performance. The 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder is capable of 300 horsepower, yet delivers impressive economy ratings that get you further in both the city and the highway. For those looking for a bit more oomph, the V6 option adds 100 horsepower, providing plenty of get-up-and-go. While both fuel conscious, it’s the 3.3-liter hybrid powertrain that adds some electricity to the mix and helps the Explorer to travel even further – as far as 27 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
