When it comes to muscle cars, it doesn’t get much better than the Dodge Challenger – an iconic power-hungry machine that has become known for its unique style and unrivaled performance. And for the 2022 model year, there is even more to love with a classic, yet refined look that catches the eye, while offering up plenty of practicality that makes it the ideal option for both work and play.
Here at Glenn Polk, the Dodge Challenger is one of our best-selling sports cars – and for good reason. If you’re ready to experience what so many other Gainesville-area enthusiasts and gearheads already have, check out our inventory to see our lineup of Challenger models. And if you’re looking to build your own custom Challenger, you can contact us to start a custom order of the 2022 Dodge Challenger.
In the mouth of the beast you’ll find a total of five engine options – four V8 powerhouses and a single V6. As you might expect, the highest output comes from the eight-cylinder options, but the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 offers up plenty of power, while also adding some practicality. When paired with the standard eight-speed automatic transmission, the V6 manages to crank out as much as 303 horsepower.
If you’re looking for more, there is a 5.7-liter V8 that can reach as much as 375 horsepower, and it comes with a fuel saver feature that can fire on all eight cylinders and drop down to just four when lower output is needed, helping to make the V8 option more efficient. Standard on the R/T Scat Pack trim is another V8 that adds over 100 horsepower for a total output of 485 horsepower.
But wait. There’s more. Those looking to turn it up to 11 will find their match with the 6.2-liter HEMI V8 – the standard engine on the adequately-named SRT Hellcat. It delivers an unmatched 717 horsepower and 656 lb-ft of torque. Still not enough for you? The menacing engine also has a high-output variety that can deliver a whopping 807 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque – more than a heavy-duty pickup.
As a muscle car, the Challenger holds true to its bulkier origins, which gives it a unique design, but also opens up additional space in the comfortable, yet sporty cabin. Unlike other cramped sports cars, the Challenger delivers plenty of passenger and cargo space – including seats for three, not two, in the back – adding yet another layer of practicality. It also has a full infotainment system with both touch and voice controls, as well as smartphone connectivity to give you access to your music, messages and more.
With unrivaled performance from five engine options, 11 unique trim offerings (including a trio of widebody trims) and plenty of practicality to boot, it’s clear that the Dodge Challenger is here to stay. And if you’re ready to experience its power, comfort and style in person, we invite you to stop by our showroom, where you can get behind the wheel of our lineup of Challenger models for yourself.
